The Roanoke Regional Partnership has been at the forefront of talent strategies with economic development outcomes having incorporated talent attraction marketing with through a public-private partnership model, going on 17 years.
Beginning with branding and place-based marketing and extending into employer/higher education partnerships and marketing services to expanding employers, the Roanoke Regional Partnership has refined a system of regional talent attraction that is stoking regional growth. The Partnership has continued to be a national leader in the workforce space, which is proven by their outcomes-driven approach that has led to a continued increase in both public and private funding support.
John Hull, executive director, of the Roanoke Regional Partnership will present the Partnership approach to talent strategies, strategies, tactics, and results.
John Hull is the executive director of the Roanoke Regional Partnership. He also serves as the executive director of the Western Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority.
John has spent more than 21 years serving the Roanoke Region in various economic development roles. A graduate of Roanoke College, the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute, and the Roanoke College Management Institute, Hull also has earned the certified economic research professional designation from the Council for Community and Economic Research. While managing the Roanoke Regional Partnership’s research and business investment functions, Hull has assisted in the creation of more than 7,000 jobs and the attraction of more than $1 billion in investment.
