Salary Range:      $50,000 - $80,000 with full benefit package and bonus opportunity

SUMMARY
As a member within the Business Development team, the Economic Development Manager (EDM) is charged with strategically guiding the attraction and recruitment of new businesses to our community. Drawing from deep market insights and industry trends, this role not only proactively engages with potential businesses looking to relocate, but also collaborates closely with local stakeholders, government entities, and real estate professionals to position the community as a premier business destination. With a hands-on approach to negotiations and a comprehensive understanding of incentives, the EDM ensures beneficial partnerships, all while maintaining a rigorous reporting structure for senior leadership. This role demands a seasoned professional with an exceptional track record in business attraction and project management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, coordinates, organizes, and implements the Company’s efforts to recruit and locate office, technology, and industrial users; ensures appropriate equipment and materials are available for the successful operations related to these efforts
  • Represents the Company to the public and outside groups, organizations, and agencies; responds to a wide variety of questions, comments, and/or concerns; resolves related complaints
  • Conducts day-to-day operations related to the Company’s Target Industry recruitment efforts; Documents the Company’s recruitment efforts through a client-tracking database
  • Ensures project compliance with applicable internal and external requirements
  • Serves as a liaison to brokers, developers and office, technology, and industrial users
  • Prepares proposals to clients and responds to inquiries/requests from Company stakeholders related to Target Industry users
  • Works with President/CEO, VP, and Pasco County stakeholders to identify county wide issues directly affecting the competitiveness of Pasco County to attract, retain and grow companies in Pasco’s Target Industry sectors
  • Coordinate with the Pasco EDC VP and Director of Marketing and Communications in providing content and developing marketing strategies for the business recruitment/expansions and press releases for successful projects.
  • Conducts research to identify emerging needs, trends, and services related to recruitment and location of Target Industry users or other assigned areas of responsibility
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct responsibilities but shared supervision of intern(s) workflow.

  • Take initiative and work independently as well as a team member

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Customer Relationship Management platform
  • Certified Economic Developer Credentials (CEcD) preferred, but not required.

CERTIFICATION
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Florida driver license
