Job Profile
The Alliance Director of Business Development is responsible for managing a variety of
economic development projects. This entails both existing industry and new industry
recruitment projects, RFI submissions, site development projects, and relationship building with
economic development allies and site selection consultants. Other duties will be assigned that fit
the strengths of the candidate.
Education and Experience
It is preferred that the Director of Business Development have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
and/or work experience in economic development or a related field.
Preferred Skills and Job Requirements
• Skillful at developing relationships
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Disciplined in time management and responsiveness to tasks, such as RFI responses
• Adept in assisting with the retention, expansion, and recruitment of new jobs
• Knowledge of or a desire to learn technical aspects of economic development
• Effectively interact with Alliance staff, boards, stakeholders and partners
• Ability to network and communicate effectively
• Must be passionate about promoting Corinth & Alcorn County, Mississippi
• Must have a sincere concern for helping maintain and create new jobs around the region
• Working before hours and after hours will be occasionally necessary
• Out of area travel is required
• Other duties will be required as assigned by the President
